Frequently Asked Questions

What is a YNRC RElaxation shot™?

YNRC Relaxation Shot™ is a 2.87 ounce liquid shot that promotes a sense of relaxation that lasts for hours. It contains a proprietary blend of natural, safe ingredients, including plant extracts, amino acids, and minerals. The YNRC Relaxation Shot™ is caffeine-free, low calorie, naturally sweetened, Non-GMO, gluten-free, AND vegan, because we wanted everyone to be able to relax, no matter what dietary restrictions or preferences you have.

What are the best times to take a YNRC RELAXATION SHOT™?

Anytime you feel anxious!

  • If you wake up dreading your to-do list, take a shot to help clear your head so you can prioritize and get it done.
  • If you are nervous about that big meeting, take a shot before walking in to help settle your nerves and increase your confidence.
  • If your kids are putting up a fight, take a shot to help you calmly explain for the millionth time why brushing teeth is important.
  • If you’re traveling, take a shot before departing to help slow the racing thoughts about all the possible catastrophic outcomes.
  • If you’re heading to the gym, take a shot to get yourself out of your mind and into your body.
  • If you’re too antsy to sleep, take a shot to help you get comfortable and relaxed.

Anxiety can happen in the body (muscle tension, headaches, and stomach knots) AND in the mind (racing thoughts, distressed mood, irritability), and it can lead to a vicious cycle that only worsens the symptoms and decreases your confidence in your ability to handle it. For example, when you’re anxious, you’re likely not able to concentrate throughout the day but when it’s time to go to bed, you can’t sleep because you are preoccupied by the things you couldn’t concentrate on during the day. Then the next day, you are exhausted from lack of sleep, which makes it even more difficult to concentrate, and then when you try to sleep…you get the point. Since the YNRC Relaxation Shot™ is small enough to keep in your purse, drawer, or pocket; you can take one anytime and anywhere to help you deal with whatever is stressing you out.

How do you know it works?

We did a lot of research to determine which ingredients to include in the YNRC Relaxation Shot™. We consulted with food scientists and physicians. We tasted a lot of gross powders and liquids. We brought on experts in medicine, psychology, and data science to our team. Then, once we had a good idea of what ingredients we wanted, we read every bit of scientific literature we could get our hands on to determine the specific effects of those ingredients.

Though we could have stopped there with our investigation, we decided we wanted to provide specific, detailed information about our product through clinical research. To accomplish this, our YNRC Psychologist, Dr. Amber Allison, designed a research study to investigate the immediate physical and psychological effects of the YNRC Relaxation Shot™. With a PhD in Biopsychology and as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Research at The University of Holy Cross, Dr. Allison was perfectly positioned to design a reliable and valid clinical research study while also teaching her students about the process and principles of conducting research. Together, Dr. Allison and her students have collected data on more than 50 participants, including gathering psychological (personality and mood assessment) and physiological (EEG and EKG assessment) information before and after the participants were given the YNRC Relaxation Shot™. Preliminary analysis indicates that the YNRC Relaxation Shot™ induces an immediate sense of relaxation across several indices of anxiety without any adverse side effects.

Stay tuned for more information about the clinical research study, including the analysis and results once all the data is collected. We are excited to be the only relaxation product on the market backed by clinical research because we want to ensure you know our claims are dependable and our product is effective.

Can it treat any medical conditions?

The YNRC Relaxation Shot™ is not intended for medical use. We do not endorse that the product treats or cures any medical conditions, and if you have any medical conditions, you should speak to your doctor prior to consuming the product.

That being said, there is plenty of evidence to indicate that chronic stress and anxiety contribute to some medical conditions through effects on immune function.

Check out this interview with Dr. Bruce McEwen, a neuroscientist and expert on stress, for information about how this happens.

The good news is that we can combat this effect by doing things that reduce stress and increase resilience, like exercising, practicing mindfulness, and making healthy food choices. The YNRC Relaxation Shot™ can be added to your toolbox of healthy coping strategies when dealing with stress, with the added benefit of being fast-acting and long lasting.

How should I use YNRC Relaxation Shots?

Since everyone is different, we don’t have one recommendation for use. We suggest starting with half a shot, wait 30 minutes to see how you feel and if you don’t experience your desired effect, take the other half. Some people will notice a relaxation effect after only the first half, while others may require the maximum daily amount, which is two shots consumed several hours apart.

Who should not use YNRC Relaxation Shots™?

While the YNRC Relaxation Shot™ is safe for most people, there are a few exceptions to this, including:

  • Women who are pregnant or nursing;
  • People with pre-existing liver conditions or diagnosed liver damage;
  • People suffering from alcohol use disorder due to the likelihood of liver damage as a result of alcohol overuse.

 If you are currently being treated for any medical condition or being prescribed any medication, consult with your doctor prior to using YNRC Relaxation Shots™.

Isn’t Kava dangerous?

You may have heard warnings about kava being associated with liver damage in some people. The origin of these warnings is research done over 15 years ago, primarily in Germany and Switzerland, which resulted in a kava ban in those countries and warnings released throughout the world, including in the United States. While this may be alarming, rest assured that the latest scientific and medical research indicates that kava is safe for most people. In fact, in 2015, the kava ban was reversed after new research showed that the association between kava and liver damage was primarily due to contamination of kava during the preparation process or consumption of other substances known to cause liver damage. Other important organizations have released statements regarding the safety of kava use, including:

The American Academy of Family Physicians (2007) published, “Short-term use of kava is recommended for patients with mild to moderate anxiety disorders who are not using alcohol or taking other medicines metabolized by the liver, but who wish to use ‘natural remedies.’”

The World Health Organization's Codex Alimentarius (2010) concluded, “Clinical trials of kava have not revealed hepatotoxicty as a problem. This has been confirmed by further studies evaluating the toxicology of kava drink. Based on available scientific information it can be inferred that kava as a traditional beverage is safe for human consumption.”

The National Institute of National Library of Medicine (2018) determined, “Based upon reported cases, the estimated frequency of clinically apparent liver injury due to kava is less than 1:1,000,000 daily doses.”

Also consider that kava has been used in ceremonies and celebrations in the Pacific Islands for more than 3,000 years without documented record of liver toxicity. Further, most prescription medications intended to treat anxiety have dangerous side effects, such as potential for addiction, extreme sleepiness, slowed breathing, and withdrawal symptoms upon cessation of the medication. Recent increases in prescriptions for these medications has led some to conclude that anti-anxiety medication is America's "Other Prescription Drug Problem." While we do not endorse the YNRC Relaxation Shot™ for treatment of anxiety disorders, we do hope that the shots will be a healthy, safe way to decrease the distress and impairment associated with daily stress, much like exercise and social support, though with the added benefit of being available anytime, anywhere.
